HUSD #3 will host a summer food program again this summer. The summer program will begin on June 5th and run through July 27th. The summer food service program is for all children under the age of 18! Please check the district website for locations and details! Have a great summer Roadrunners!

The Quarter 4 Honors Assembly is tomorrow, May 24th, beginning at 1:30 pm in the Park gym. We've sent invitations home with your students if they are receiving awards. If you are unsure, be sure to reach out to your child's teacher, and they will be able to let you know if they are receiving an award! Hope to see you there!

Park Lil' Beepers celebrated field day today! Among more tradition field day activities, Mrs. Gardner built in a lot of water activities. Special thanks to all who came out and supported us!

HHS Swing Thing and HHS Fusion and Marching Band visited Park Elementary today to perform! They inspired our students to become performers, academic scholars, and student athletes. Thanks for the visit!

Park staff and students celebrated and appreciated our bus drivers today! Driving over half a million miles a year, our drivers get us to and from school safely! Thank you HUSD transportation!

PAX Tools are simple strategies to improve cooperation, reduce unwanted behavior, and help build self-regulation and positive behavior! Parents and caregivers can now attend a no-cost virtual PAX Tools Workshop! Caregivers participating in a 2.5-hour virtual PAX Tools Workshop will receive all the materials needed to use PAX Tools in various settings. Everyone completing a PAX Tools Workshop will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card. Park Roadrunners have been very busy over the past month! In Mrs. Begay's class, you can see a combination of informational and functional writing. Each student picked an item, pulled key details about their item, wrote their clues in a list, and "hid" it in the egg for others to guess! In Mrs. Analla's first-grade classroom, students were learning measurement using non-standard measurement tools. They painted a penguin and then measured their penguin using unifix cubes. Using non-standard measurements builds the capacity for students to measure using inches and centimeters in second grade. In Mrs. Sanchez's class, students have been working on their informational writing. Good informational texts have strong transition words. The most common transition words we see first-grade students use is first, next, and last. As they continue through Holbrook Schools, they will learn to vary these words and add voice to their writing. #ParkProud #WhenOneRoadrunnerSucceeds #HundredPercentRoadrunner

Wondering what they're laughing about? Mrs. Newton-Pender is sharing a high-frequency jenga game with one of her families. One participant who came to check out what APTT was all about said as she was leaving, "Man, I wish they had this when I had kids here!" If you weren't able to make the meeting, reach out to the school so we can share with you your child's data and send the activity home with you!
