2024-2025 Procedure Expectations

Dear Families,

I am excited and honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Park and Hulet Elementary for the 2024/2025 school year. My name is Mrs. Tow, and I look forward to working together to ensure a successful and enriching experience for all of our students.

I would like to outline some important expectations and procedures for the upcoming school year:

  1. School Arrival and Breakfast: School doors open at 7:40 AM. Breakfast is served until 8:05 AM. Please ensure your child arrives on time to take advantage of this opportunity.

  2. Attendance and Punctuality: Attendance is crucial for your child’s success. School begins promptly at 8:10 AM. Being on time helps students start their day positively and ensures they don’t miss valuable instruction.

  3. Absences: If your child is or will be absent, please contact the office as soon as possible with the reason for their absence. For doctor’s appointments, a doctor’s note is required for the absence to be marked as excused.

  4. Lunch Procedures: Lunch Procedures: Lunch is a busy time with limited seating. While we will have scheduled times throughout the year when all families are invited to eat lunch with their children, we also welcome you to join your child for lunch on their birthday. Additionally, you may bring your child lunch, but please ensure you bring it at least 10 minutes before their lunch period begins. Once students are in the cafeteria, it is difficult to page them. Please note, we do not allow DoorDash or UberEats deliveries for students. To ensure the safety of all students, sharing food during lunch is not allowed due to allergies and other concerns.

  5. Dismissal and Transportation Changes: To ensure student safety, please notify the office of any transportation changes before 2:30 PM each day. Changes made after this time cannot be accommodated. If your child is a pick-up student, you will receive a sign to place in your car window. Please stay in the designated pick-up line and follow the correct traffic flow. During the first few weeks, we appreciate your patience as staff learn to recognize your vehicles. For safety reasons, do not park across the street or in unauthorized areas to have your child walk to your car, as this can be dangerous with increased traffic during dismissal.

  6. Medication Policy: The school nurse will no longer provide students with ibuprofen, Tums, Tylenol, or Benadryl. If your child needs any of these medications, a parent or guardian will need to bring the medication to the school to administer it.

  7. Communication and Safety: Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me in the office. We are always open to suggestions on improving our procedures for the benefit of all students.

I look forward to a fun-filled year and appreciate your support with our day-to-day routines and procedures. When everyone respects the rules, it helps the process run more smoothly for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Tow
