Minion Madness Day... Dress like a minion (yes, face painting is ok). We hope to see as many minions on campus as possible! We have some great activities planned.
Valentine Gifts sent or dropped off at school:
Students will receive them at the end of day, not during class time. NO glass vases or balloons are allowed on the buses. Students will not be permitted on the buses with these items! This is a safety issue!

Valentine's Day at HJHS! Please be advised that if Valentine's Day gifts are delivered or dropped off at the school we will get them to your child at the end of the school day. We will not be delivering into classrooms throughout the day in an effort to minimize distractions of the learning environment. **Additionally, glass vases and balloons are not permitted on school buses and students will not be allowed to get on the bus with these items.
HJHS Minion Moments: Spreading Kindness Everywhere continues with Minion Madness this Friday, Feb. 14th with Dress Like a Minion Day & a Kindness Assembly. We hope to see as many students looking like little minions as possible.
Today, HJHS students focused on the concept of BEING HELPFUL and its impact on OUR COMMUNITY.
Students learned that Being Helpful is about recognizing needs and taking initiative to make positive contributions.
The students engaged in connecting historical examples of helpfulness to their own lives, encouraging them to reflect on and act upon the principles of kindness and contribution; such as Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, Fredrick Douglas and others.

"HJHS Minion Moments: Spreading Kindness Everywhere" continues at HJHS. Today, the students demonstrated positive teamwork as they made Kindness Banners/Posters to hang around the campus to brighten up each others days.

Just a reminder: Tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 6th is Conference Day at HJHS. Conferences will be held from 1:00pm-4:30pm & 5:00pm-7:00pm. HJHS will be closed for staff dinner break from 4:30pm-5:00pm. Conferences will be open forum style in the HJHS Cafe. No appointments necessary.
We encourage your child to attend conferences with you as we would like conferences to be a discussion and conversation between teachers, parents and students.
Conference Day: Students will have early release and NO AFTER SCHOOL Activities.
ALSO: Student Council will be selling their Valentine Candy Grams. Prices range from $1.00-$4.00 cash only. Valentine Grams will be delivered to students on Valentine's Day.

HJHS Minion Moments: Spreading Kindness Everywhere!
As part of kindness month, HJHS students participated in a round of Kindness Bingo during lunch where they had to show/demonstrate acts of kindness such as giving a classmate a compliment, or greeting another student with a smile and a high five or fist bump, thanking a cafeteria worker, holding a door open for someone, and much more.
The students learned that acts of kindness can be something small but they can make a big difference. It was a great to see kindness spreading around HJHS today!
