What an experience for the 8th graders of HJHS as they traveled to Flagstaff to spend the day at Northern Arizona University as part of Indigenous Spirit Day! Our students engaged with college students for chats and a question and answer session as they discovered how NAU honors cultures through academic and personal development. The students learned about campus life, what it takes to get into college, how they can fund their schooling through scholarships, toured the campus, received an NAU lanyard, a college packet AND they got to eat lunch in the "Hot Spot"..all you can eat; they loved it.
~Thank you to the parents for allowing your child to experience the day, to our students for being Respectful, Responsible, and Reliably Safe, and the HJHS staff for supporting this adventure. It was a great day to be a Roadrunner!~

Great Day at HJHS! We kicked off the day with the "Life's a Movie, Film Drug Free" rally and walk to school, followed that with our October class games, prepped 8th graders for their trip to NAU tomorrow, sent our Wrestling and Volleyball Teams off for their first games/matches of their season and 7th grade students showed off their love for "Love Our School" with a campus clean up. HJHS is All In The Roadrunner Way! Way to Go Roadrunners! 🌟🌟
