Statement Regarding Tuesday’s Basketball Game Between Holbrook High School and Alchesay:
To the Students, Parents, and Fans of the Holbrook Roadrunners and Alchesay Falcons,
We want to take a moment to address the unfortunate altercation that took place among spectators at Tuesday’s basketball game. As schools and communities that take great pride in our athletic programs, we value the spirit of competition, sportsmanship, and mutual respect that define our teams and fans.
Both Holbrook and Alchesay High Schools are committed to ensuring that our athletic events remain safe, positive, and enjoyable experiences for everyone in attendance. We are actively working together to review what took place and to find a peaceful resolution that reinforces our shared commitment to respectful and friendly competition.
Sports bring our communities together, and we ask for your continued support in fostering an environment that reflects the values of teamwork, integrity, and respect—both on and off the court. Moving forward, we will continue working with our students, staff, and supporters to reinforce the importance of sportsmanship and to ensure that every game is an opportunity to celebrate the dedication and talent of our student-athletes.
Thank you for your support of our schools and for helping us uphold the tradition of excellence in high school athletics.
Decisions concerning our next competition are in progress and an update will be given when decisions are finalized.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robbie Koerperich, Holbrook Unified
Mrs. Leeann Lacapa, Whiteriver Unified
