This evening, your students may come home and tell you that we practiced a Lockdown drill. We adopt the Standard Response Protocol at Park Elementary and we regularly train and practice for school emergency situations. For new students, and some returning, this can cause anxiety. Here are a couple of ways to help them through this: 1) Practice makes perfect, 2) We always announce if it's a DRILL, and 3) offer reassurance that being behind a locked door is a proven deterrent in school situations. At Park, we believe that all students can learn how to be respectful, responsible, safe and kind. We also believe that all students should be acknowledged when they are caught being responsible, respectful, safe and kind. Last week our students went around the school to learn what it means to follow the school rules in the different locations of the school and on the bus.

We are excited for the first day of school! As a reminder, you will pick up and drop off in the front of the school, please see the map image on our Facebook, website, or App. Please enter the school from North 7th street. Stay in your vehicle and pull all the way up. There will be an adult at 7:40 to let your child out of the car. At dismissal, you may line up outside of the school, stay in your car, and hold the name sign you received. The staff will call the student to the car and open the door. Students will only be released to vehicles in the pickup line, not walk up parents. Please turn right out of the school towards the railroad. As we learn the cars and the students, please be patient as we may take more time then normal. Our typical dismissal lasts 15 minutes from start to finish.

The first day of school is tomorrow! Our transportation department may be running several minutes late as they get used to the new routes. The tardy bell rings at 8:10 am! Can't wait to see your smiling faces!

A big Roadrunner welcome to our new Roadrunner teachers! Today was their first day as teachers at HUSD 3! They are all off to a great start! Welcome to each of you and thanks for being Roadrunners!

Our EARLY ACCESS class lists have been posted outside of the school! If your name is not on the list, the office still requires some documents to complete your registration. You may stop 7/26-29 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm to complete your registration. We will repost lists on 7/29 in the evening!

Greeting Roadrunners! The school offices at Park, Hulet, IWES, HJHS and HHS will be closed on Monday, July 25th for front office personnel training. If there is an emergency matter, please contact the Holbrook District Office at: 928-524-6144! Offices will be back open on Tuesday, July 26th at 8 am! Thanks for your understanding! School begins August 3rd!

What a ride! HUSD Governing Board Vice-President and Founder of the Tour De SiiHasin bike event; as well as many HUSD students and parents, are participating in the 2022 Tour de SiiHasin Bike Ride this week which spans 400 miles through the Navajo Nation! Amazing people on an amazing ride! Way to go Roadrunners! Be safe and finish strong!

Amazing Roadrunners! The facility services & custodial crew have done a wonderful job setting up for graduation! Some of the finest Roadrunners we have! Great job everyone! Will be a wonderful celebration!

Tomorrow is Park’s Fourth Quarter Honor’s Assembly beginning at 1:30 pm! We look forward to celebrating with each of our students.

Wednesday is FIELD DAY! Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring a water bottle, and sun screen!

Good evening! A reminder that there will be no school on Friday, May 13th as a makeup day that was not used during the school year. Teachers and students will not report to school on Friday. Have a great day off and we will look forward to seeing all students and staff back on Monday, May 16th!
