Guess who made a surprise visit today? The one and only Grinch! 🎉🎁 Despite his reputation, he came with a heart full of Christmas cheer and joy to share with all our students. The halls echoed with laughter as he entertained everyone with his antics and even managed to teach us a thing or two about the true spirit of the holiday season.
It was an unforgettable experience witnessing the Grinch's transformation from a mischief-maker to a bearer of warmth and happiness. The students couldn't contain their excitement, and their smiles lit up the whole school!

Park Little Beepers welcomed Miss Navajo Nation. She taught the students several words in Navajo. Her favorite color is pink and favorite food is spaghetti.

There is no better way to show that you LOVE OUR SCHOOL, Park Elementary than by attending our first Academic Parent Teacher Team Meeting tomorrow, October 25th. This year, we are starting a little later to ensure that all families have an opportunity to attend! First Grade will begin at 5:15, and Kindergarten will start at 6:30. APTT strengthens the teacher-family relationship by focusing on student academic growth and achievement. APTT elevates the efforts of traditional parent-teacher conferences by inviting all families of the same classroom teacher to meet together rather than individually. There will be childcare provided so that you can have a parent night out!

Please join HUSD #3 for our 13th Annual Walk With Me to Be Drug Free Walk to School and our inaugural Love Our Schools Day on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. All buses will drop off students at the Old Courthouse for a Drug Free and Love Our Schools rally followed by walking to school. Parents, family and community are invited to participate. Breakfast for students will be served. The rally will begin around 8 am. Thank you for your participation and thank you for being drug free and loving our schools!
Please join us for our first Academic Parent Teacher Team meeting for the 2023-2024 school year! You will have the opportunity to meet with your child's teacher and other families of students from the class to collaborate and support each other and your child's learning. You will learn about foundation skills that are important for your child's success at their grade level, learn games/activities to support your child with those foundational skills and set a goal for your child to work on before our next meeting in January.

Grade 1 students have been studying a world of books this past quarter, which harnesses students' inherent desire to read and learn. Through text, they journey to new places, meeting diverse characters whose lives change positively because of books. Through these texts, they form information to answer the Essential Question: How do books change lives around the world? Students in Mrs. Sanchez's class created dioramas to represent the core texts students read; Tomás and the Library Lady, Green Eggs and Ham, and Waiting for the Biblioburro.
Homecoming Week is coming up! We are excited to participate in our first set of dress-up days as a school!
Miss World Arizona Sukie Cheema paid a visit to Park Elementary School, where she once attended as a student.
She stopped and posed for a picture with Mr. Fred Jackson, former Park Elementary second grade teacher, who is featured on the mural.
Park Students and Staff would like to thank everyone who purchased books at the book fair. You helped us earn $1,390.32 in Scholastic Dollars. Scholastic Dollars are used to purchase new books for our library.
You may notice your student coming home with some books today! Thanks to HUSD's Johnson O'Malley (JOM) program, each student had $20 to spend in the Scholastic Book Fair. We are grateful for great programs like JOM which help support our students!
