Indian Wells Elementary School - Helping Unique Students Develop

We are excited to be back in school! We are looking forward to seeing everyone Monday, August 22nd!

Greetings Parents, Students and Staff of Indian Wells Elementary School. We were notified late this afternoon by the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority that there is a water line break between Greasewood and Indian Wells area. This will limit the water supply to Indian Wells tomorrow; therefore, we will be cancelling school for students on Wednesday, August 17th. We hope the water will be restored sometime tomorrow so school can resume on Thursday, August 18th. Tomorrow's school day will be made up in May. Thanks for your patience and understanding. We will stay in touch on the restoration of the water line.

A big Roadrunner welcome to our new Roadrunner teachers! Today was their first day as teachers at HUSD 3! They are all off to a great start! Welcome to each of you and thanks for being Roadrunners!

Congrats Gypsi Gover! Gypsi was awarded $1,000 from Four Peaks Charities for Teachers for her great work as a teacher at Indian Wells Elementary School! Gypsi was nominated for the award by a parent of a child in her class last year! What a well deserved honor! Keep up the great work and thanks for being a Roadrunner, Gypsi!

Greeting Roadrunners! The school offices at Park, Hulet, IWES, HJHS and HHS will be closed on Monday, July 25th for front office personnel training. If there is an emergency matter, please contact the Holbrook District Office at: 928-524-6144! Offices will be back open on Tuesday, July 26th at 8 am! Thanks for your understanding! School begins August 3rd!

What a ride! HUSD Governing Board Vice-President and Founder of the Tour De SiiHasin bike event; as well as many HUSD students and parents, are participating in the 2022 Tour de SiiHasin Bike Ride this week which spans 400 miles through the Navajo Nation! Amazing people on an amazing ride! Way to go Roadrunners! Be safe and finish strong!

Amazing Roadrunners! The facility services & custodial crew have done a wonderful job setting up for graduation! Some of the finest Roadrunners we have! Great job everyone! Will be a wonderful celebration!

IWES BIKE TRAIL! Volunteers from Oregon to Colorado are helping construct a bike trail that IWES students, community members and bike enthusiasts can use! First of a kind! Thank you to everyone for making the bike trail a reality!!!

Ben Williams- Class of 2013! Benjamin Williams has accepted a PhD position at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC for the fall of 2022. Ben just received his Masters Degree in Neuroscience from BYU. Mr. & Mrs. Williams noted, “We couldn't be more proud and grateful he got such a great start at HUSD”! Way to go Benjamin! WHEN ONE ROADRUNNER SUCCEEDS, WE ALL SUCCEED!

COMING SOON TO IWES!!! IWES is preparing for a bike path at the IWES school! The bike path will be used for PE, after school programs and community use!!! We hope to design and build the bike path on April 21, 22, & 23! We will need volunteers! Mark your calendars!

Kindergarten transition day is coming! May 5th, 2022 9:30-11:00 MST Location: Indian Wells Elementary School Students that are or are going to be 5-years old by September 1st are eligible to start Kindergarten in the 2022-2023 School Year. We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Indian Wells has been selected to receive a Riding for Focus grant! Riding for Focus is @Outride ’s school-based cycling education program, which uses cycling as a tool to promote physical, emotional, and social well-being in youth. The program is designed to provide middle schools with everything they need to get their 6th-8th grade students riding, including bikes, helmets, and teacher training, and is currently in over 200 middle schools across North America! #RidingforFocus #MoreKidsonBike"
