Dear Hulet Families,
We’re excited to invite you to our first APTT Meeting (Academic Parent Teacher Team Meeting) on Wednesday, November 13th! This meeting is a valuable opportunity for you to learn more about the foundational skills your child is working on, explore fun games to support their learning at home, and set meaningful goals for their continued success.
Your involvement is essential! As your child spends the majority of their time with you, your support at home is crucial to their progress and achievement.
Meeting Times:
2nd and 4th Grades: 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM
3rd and 5th Grades: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Child Care:
Child care will be provided for children ages 2 years old through 5th grade to ensure you have the opportunity to engage fully in the meeting and connect with other families.
If you have children in multiple grade levels and the meetings overlap, please attend one meeting and then visit the other classroom afterward to pick up any materials.
We look forward to seeing you all soon and working together to support your child’s success!

🌟 Congratulations to our November Hulet Employee of the Month, Mrs. Hubbard! 🌟
Mrs. Hubbard exemplifies the "Roadrunner Way" day in and day out. After many years of teaching second grade, she looped with her students to third grade this year, taking on the new challenge with grace and determination. Every day, she goes above and beyond, always with a smile, communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Known as the "Pick-Up Duty Queen," Mrs. Hubbard expertly manages the car line, keeping things moving smoothly by recognizing cars and ensuring an efficient process. She’s always willing to lend a hand, not just to her own class but to the entire third-grade team and Hulet family. Mrs. Hubbard creates homework aligned with standards and consistently shares helpful resources for Reading and Math with her team. Her commitment to data-driven teaching helps connect her lessons to the standards in a meaningful way.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, and 18 years as a proud Roadrunner, Mrs. Hubbard truly embodies being "all in." She’s taken on the transition to a new grade level like a champ, creating new lessons, studying the standards, and dedicating extra hours to ensure her students’ success. We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated and inspiring educator on our team!

November is Native American Heritage Month and this school year we’re proud to have over 1,300 students who identify as Native American. To celebrate, we’ve organized Spirit Days spread throughout the month, making it easy for everyone to join in on the most convenient days—participation is welcome whenever it works best for you. Each themed day, from traditional clothing to language pride, honors Native culture with inclusivity and respect, inviting all Roadrunners, Native and non-Native, to celebrate together. 🎉🔥Yesterday, Park and Hulet Elementary students had an exciting and educational experience at the Fire Prevention Assembly held at the George Gardner Auditorium! Our K-5 students learned all about fire safety and even got to see Mrs. Tow suit up in full fire gear! 🧑🚒
The fun didn’t stop there—Sparky the Fire Dog made a special appearance, and everyone cheered as Ms. Newton Pender and Mr. Charter competed in a friendly race to see who could hook up the fire hose the fastest and spray down over 3 water bottles each! 💦

Mrs. Layden, Park School’s Reading Specialist, has gone above and beyond this year, taking extra steps to test students and prepare them for progress monitoring and interventions. Despite facing personal challenges, she has consistently provided invaluable support, both to her students and staff. Her dedication and hard work have made a significant difference in ensuring that our K-1 students receive the help they need and that our teachers are supported.
We are also extremely thrilled to announce that Mrs. Layden has been recognized as an Arizona Rural Teacher of Distinction and is a finalist for the prestigious Arizona Rural School Teacher of the Year award, to be presented on October 1st and 2nd. This honor highlights her exceptional teaching skills, dedication, and commitment to her students and community. Her passion and creativity in providing quality education in a rural setting exemplify "The Roadrunner Way" and serve as an inspiration to us all.
