Our fifth graders today were in third grade then.
Today, we brought back the dodgeball tournament to celebrate being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind throughout quarter 3.
Special thanks to Mr. Morgan for organizing the brackets and all of the participation from our students and teachers!

Picture day is coming on March 3rd!

Hulet Elementary is hosting their annual science fair. Students, in groups or individually, went through the scientific method to perform an experiment.
Individuals or groups who score first or second place will have an opportunity to have their project taken to Snowflake for the regional fair.
The Hulet Fair is opened on 2/16 and 2/17 from 9:30-4:30 for family viewing. Please be sure to check in the office prior to going to the cafeteria.

Next week is Kindness Week at Hulet Elementary! Join us with some fun dress up days!
As a reminder, please do not deliver candies, flowers, or balloons to students at school. These will not be sent to the classroom until the final thirty-minutes of the day and balloons and flowers cannot be brought on the bus!

Congratulations to our our Hulet students who participated in the District Spelling Bee last night. First place was awarded to Anthony Moyte, second place goes to Merrick Adams and third place was awarded to Jaiden Quezada.
These students, along with our fifth place alternate, Josiah Wiles, will represent HUSD at the Navajo County Spelling Bee next week in Snowflake.
It was a great turn out and many of our students third through fifth grade did an excellent job! Special thanks to Mrs. Taylor for sponsoring the Bee and organizing the district bee.
Congratulations Roadrunners and good luck next week!

It’s National School Counselor Week! Hulet and Park Elementary are so lucky to have TWO full time counselors on staff, Mrs. Stephanie Peters and Mr. Steven Santos.
Their primary focus is to meet the social and emotional needs of students in individual, small-group, and whole group lessons!
Let Mrs. Peters and Mr. Santos know how much we appreciate them on our campuses.

After our second APTT meetings on Tuesday, our teachers came together to debrief and discuss ways to make the third APTT meeting better then this one.
At Hulet, we look for growth over perfection. We are grateful for your partnership with us. We are better together!

Greetings Fellow Roadrunners,
Tonight's basketball game vs the Winslow Bulldogs will be limited capacity. Only parents, staff with passes, and AIA passes will be allowed admittance due to community spread of COVID in Holbrook and Winslow areas. There will be no tickets sold at the door. We appreciate your understanding.
Fans may watch the game via YouTube at: https://youtu.be/5qx-W6TTIyE.
Stay healthy & GO ROADRUNNERS!

A reminder that HUSD 3 will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King national holiday on Monday, January 17, 2022. School will resume on Tuesday, January 18th.

DID YOU KNOW it’s National Mentor Month? At Hulet, we asked students who their mentor is and why. Here are their responses:
1) Tori in fifth grade said Mrs. Hawk, a paraprofessional is her mentor because I love her personality, even me!
2) Mason in fourth grade said Mrs. Smithson is his mentor because she teaches him.
3) Anthony in fifth grade said Mrs. Dunsmore is his mentor because she makes him feel like a friend and is super nice.
4) Atreyu in second grade said Mrs. Hubbard is his mentor because she teaches and loves me.
Who are the mentors in your life?

Welcome to 2022! Hopefully your Winter Break has been restful and relaxing. We look forward to welcoming your students back on January 3rd.
Keep in mind our second Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) will be in four weeks! We look forward to having more families engaged with us helping our unique learners excel together!
